Artdokfest received a warning from the Ministry of Culture

The Ministry of Culture sent a letter to the Festival of Documentary Cinema Film Festival, in which the organizers are warned of liability for showing films without a rental certificate.

The warning was received on the opening day of the festival, Vitaly Mansky, president of Artdokfest, told Novaya Gazeta .

According to him, the festival program has Russian -made films that do not have a Russian rental certificate, but "they do not need it, since the rights to these films are sold to the Latvian company, which means that by law they are considered Latvian."

In an interview with Open Russia, Mansky also said that perhaps the prevention of the Ministry of Culture is due to the fact that “Artdokfest” included in its parallel program “Artoxet” the film-investigation of the “Seagull” of the Corruption Fund, the business of the sons of the Prosecutor General Yuri Chaika.

“We have a clearly marked regulation of the Artoxet program. - explained Mansky. - It says in black and white that Artdoxet is one of the parallel programs of the Artdokfest festival and this program is collected from films laid out by the authors on the Internet. And this program goes on the Internet. ”

The President of the festival emphasized that the filu “Seagull” of a rental certificate is not required: “No one can come to the cashier and buy a ticket for this film because it is not in the cinema!”

The Artdokfest festival takes place in Moscow and St. Petersburg from December 16 to 16.
