Deputy from the Communist Party of the Russian Federation Valery Rashkin sent a request to Prosecutor General Yuri Chaika and Chairman of the Accounts Chamber Tatyana Golikova asking for an audit of the use of grants from the president to non-profit organizations. The deputy’s attention was drawn to the 9 million rubles allocated during the third competition of presidential grants to the Night Wolves organization. According to the application, the money went to the organization for the project “Children’s New Year trees at the bike center.” “The show will be organized on the territory of the Sexton bike center, where there is a nightclub, restaurant, and bar; The majority of events are held for adults. Despite the fact that MOOB Night Wolves won the grant, the organization is selling tickets for the production. At the same time, at the moment, all tickets for the show in January 2016 have been sold or reserved,” the deputy explains his interest in the grant, noting that the allocation of this grant caused a great public outcry.

It should be noted that the plot of the bikers’ “Children’s New Year’s Trees” traditionally has clear political overtones, as Rashkin describes the show: thus, at the 2015 show, the main negative characters of the production were unambiguous prototypes of the United States. Such content of “Christmas trees” orients the viewer towards social conflict and the search for enemies, the author of the request fears.

In connection with these concerns, the communist asks the Prosecutor General's Office and the Accounts Chamber to conduct an audit of all grants allocated from the president to non-profit organizations for the effectiveness and expediency of spending. In addition, he requests that the Night Wolves be checked for signs of activity aimed at inciting social discord.
