“A psychoneurological boarding school in the Voronezh region burned down. 23 people died, more than 20 were hospitalized in serious condition. In the burnt building there were bedridden patients and decrepit old people. They could not save themselves, they were hiding under the beds.

At night, in the building for 70 people, only two nurses, a nurse and an orderly were on duty, two of them were also pensioners. It was difficult for them to pull people out of the fire. These are the consequences of health care reform. Against the backdrop of an increase in disability due to mental illness, staff in specialized boarding schools has been reduced by almost 10 percent.
