On December 15, the Supreme Court reduced the term of imprisonment of anarchist Ilya Romanov, sentenced to a fine of 110 thousand rubles and ten years in a maximum security colony on charges of preparing a terrorist attack in Nizhny Novgorod and publicly justifying terrorism, to nine years. RAPSI reports this with reference to its own correspondent from the courtroom.
As lawyer Evgeny Gubin, representing Romanov’s interests, told the publication, he intends to challenge the court’s decision and demand a full acquittal of his client. According to him, the accusation is completely falsified.
