The negotiations of the government with parliament, lasting two weeks, concerned the participation of the Swedish multi-purpose fighters of the JAS-39 Gripen in military operations in Syria, which France and the United States asked for. It was assumed that Swedish planes will be involved in reconnaissance flights over the territories occupied by IG militants.

Instead, the Swedish government offered France to take advantage of the help of the Swedish strategic transport aviation. The first aid package includes 50 to 100 flight hours of Herkules aircraft. In addition, Sweden is also ready to help France with military-technical materials. The cost of a help package can be 4 million euros.
