The European Commission decided that Ukraine is ready for a visa -free regime with the EU

The European Commission on Friday, December 18, finally adopted the sixth report on the implementation of the requirements of the Visa Liberalization Plan of Action. The European Commission on the implementation of Kiev PDV in the afternoon in Brussels will be presented by the European Commissioner Dimitris Avramopulos, UNIAN notes.

At the disposal of "European Pravda" were fragments of the report, which is now being prepared for publication. The document was approved at a meeting of the board of EC on December 18.

The report reports that Ukraine coped with the implementation of PDV. "Taking into account the results of the monitoring and reporting conducted after the start of visa -free dialogue in October 2008, the commission believes that Ukraine has fulfilled all the criteria established by four blocks of the second phase of the PDL," the conclusions of the European Commission said.

The document notes that the provision of a visa -free regime for Ukraine became possible thanks to the special political relations of Kyiv and Brussels. "Taking into account the relations of Ukraine and the EU, the European Commission in early 2016 will submit a legislative proposal to change the regulation of 539/2001," EC concludes.

The sixth report evaluated how the Ukrainian authorities acted effectively when achieving the goals of the second phase of the plan. This report does not apply to those indicators that were recognized as satisfactory according to the results of the fifth report. Among the indicators of the second phase of liberalization: border management, migration management, the fight against corruption and laundering of money, the protection of national and other minorities.

The mentioned regulation of the European Union establishes a list of countries whose citizens do not need a visa to enter all EU countries except Great Britain and Ireland. According to European Pravda, the visa -free report of the European Commission does not contain any conditions for the abolition of visas for Ukrainians.

The European Commission also confirmed the implementation of the action plan on Georgian visas and Kosovo. The EU Council was recommended to consider the introduction of a visa -free regime for these countries also in 2016.

Earlier it was reported that the introduction of a visa -free regime with the EU can turn into a massive outflow of the population from Ukraine. The expert on money transfer and banking service of migrants Andrei Gaidutsky noted that about three million people can leave the country in the coming years after the abolition of visas. The countries of Central and Eastern Europe survived a similar experience, whose inhabitants began to leave after their entry into the EU.

The current Ukrainian leadership calls European integration one of the priority areas of its policy. Ukraine was negotiating on the conclusion of the Association with the European Union back in 2007-2011. In March 2012, the authorities paraphized him, but in November 2013, President of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych announced that he was suspended the signing process. This led to mass protests, as a result of which Yanukovych fled to Russia.

The new authorities of Ukraine signed in Brussels the political part of the agreement on March 21, 2014, and on June 27, President Petro Poroshenko put their signature under the economic bloc of the document. Since November 2014, the association agreement partially entered into force. To introduce a free trade zone, according to Poroshenko in November, the European Union is ready since 2016.
