A resident of Karelia attacked a bailiff with an ax for being forced to appear in court

In the Muezersky district of Karelia, a bailiff who was supposed to take a man and a woman to court was attacked with an ax, according to the website of the regional department of the FSSP.

The incident occurred on December 14. After the bailiff introduced himself and said why he had come, those who were near the apartment began shouting at him. One of the women grabbed the bailiff by his clothes and tried to push him out of the apartment.

The residents refused to voluntarily go to court. “The woman, subject to forced arrest, grabbed an ax and tried to strike the bailiff. The government representative neutralized the woman’s actions and threw away the ax,” the Federal Bailiff Service said in a statement.

Those who resisted the bailiff were eventually detained. In relation to them, protocols were drawn up on administrative offenses under Article 17 of the Code of Administrative Offenses (obstruction of the lawful activities of an official of a body authorized to carry out the functions of enforcement and ensuring the established procedure for the activities of courts).

The court sentenced the participants in the brawl to administrative arrest for five days. In addition, a criminal case may be initiated against one of the women.
