Two Bashkir district police officers received suspended sentences for causing grievous harm to the health of a detainee

In the city of Sibai in Bashkortostan, the court sentenced the local commissioners of the Ministry of Internal Affairs Baurzhan Muratov and Ainur Tuigunov, accused of causing grievous harm to health (clause “a”, part 3 of Article 111 of the Criminal Code) and exceeding official authority with the use of violence (clause “a” ", "c" part 3 of article 286 of the Criminal Code). The district police received 3.5 years of suspended imprisonment, reports . the press service of the Investigative Committee

As the court found, on the night of February 9, 2015, local police officers went to investigate a family scandal in one of the apartments in the city of Sibay. After that, they brought a 28-year-old local resident, who was intoxicated, to the department.

“Taking advantage of the moment, the delivered one ran away. The local police officers caught up with the escapee and kicked him, causing serious harm to his health,” the department reports.

During the trial, Tuigunov did not admit guilt, and Muratov refused to testify.

In addition to the suspended sentence, the court imposed a 3-year probationary period on the temporarily suspended police officers with deprivation of the right to hold positions in the public service.
