The entrepreneur, owner of the Crimean Tatar TV channel ATR, Lenur Islyamov, was charged in absentia with sabotage in connection with the energy blockade of the peninsula after a power line was blown up, Crimean prosecutor Natalya Poklonskaya said on Rossiya -24.
“One of the leaders (of the energy blockade - MZ) was Islyamov. Currently, citizen Islyamov has been charged in absentia with sabotage,” said the republic’s prosecutor.
She added that several examinations have already been carried out as part of the criminal case of sabotage.
On December 3, the court arrested Islyamov’s property. The Crimean businessman owns the ATR TV channel, the transport company SimCityTrans, the Just Bank bank, and stores with Apple equipment. He currently lives in Ukraine.
Islyamov was one of the organizers of the energy blockade of Crimea. The case against him has been under investigation since October 22, but it was not previously reported under what article it was initiated.
