The former deputy head of the Perm Internal Affairs Directorate was sentenced to four years probation in the case of the theft of nine million rubles

The court sentenced Vyacheslav Vesin, Deputy Head of the Perm Internal Affairs Directorate for Logistics, to four years of suspended imprisonment and a fine of 300 thousand rubles, the Investigative Committee reports .

Vesin was also deprived of the rank of police colonel and the right to hold positions related to organizational and administrative activities for three years.

He was found guilty of fraud on an especially large scale, committed by a group of persons by prior conspiracy (Part 4 of Article 159 of the Criminal Code).

Earlier, the head of the public security police of the Central Internal Affairs Directorate for the Perm Territory, Alexey Rummel, was convicted in the same case. He was sentenced to five years in a general regime colony and a fine of 500 thousand rubles. Rummel was also stripped of the rank of police lieutenant colonel and the right to work in positions related to administrative and economic functions for two years.

The criminal case against the third defendant, businessman Oleg Novichenkov, is currently being considered by the court.

According to the investigation, in June 2011, during mass events, the regional department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs attracted 200 employees of territorial police departments. The regional government allocated more than seven million rubles for this. Later it turned out that the head of the public security police of the Central Internal Affairs Directorate in the region, with the help of a businessman he knew, stole part of the funds allocated for accommodation and food for police officers. Then he also instructed the deputy head of the Department of Internal Affairs for Perm for logistics, Vesin, to inform public cashiers that they should transfer the money received to businessman Novichenkov. They were also kidnapped, investigators believe.

As a result, according to the case materials, almost nine million rubles were stolen from the budget of the Perm Territory.
