Return to the arena. From the collection of Felix Komarov ”, dedicated to the 90th anniversary of the sculptor.
The exhibition will present more than a hundred works from the collection of Felix Komarov - a friend, connoisseur and collector of the works of Ernst Unknown, his official representative in Russia, the site of Manezh reports.
The anniversary exhibition in the Manege is not just the next project of the collector, it is dictated, first of all, the desire to present art to the Russian viewer, which has been abroad for many years and restore historical justice in relation to the sculptor.
The exposition included more than 20 sculptures of the 1960s and 2000s, including monumental work rare for private collections. Among the sculptural works are two incarnations of the orpheus autobiographical work, one of the artist’s favorite archetype is a large “centaur”, as well as the sculpture “New Statue of Freedom”, “Bertrand de Born” and sculptural portraits.
In addition, the exposition presents more than 50 picturesque canvases and 60 graphic works: drawings, engravings, lithography.
Exhibition "Ernst Unknown. Return to the arena ”will last until February 9th.
