Poroshenko approved a plan of multinational military exercises

President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko approved a plan for conducting multinational exercises with the participation of units of the Ukrainian armed forces in the country and beyond for 2016. This was reported by the press service of the head of state.

The document determines the period of conducting the exercises, the total number of departments of other states that will be admitted to the territory of Ukraine to participate in multinational military exercises, the types and number of weapons, military equipment, the duration of the stay and the location.

In 2016, on the territory of Ukraine, foreign military personnel will take part in the Klenovy Arca-2016 Klenovaya Arca, Ukrainian-American exercises Sea Breeze-2016 and Rapid Trident-2016.

The plan provides for the admission to the territory of Ukraine of the units of the Armed Forces of the United States, other states of NATO members and the states of the Partnership for Peace program with appropriate weapons and military equipment. Poroshenko also signed the law "On the approval of the decision of the President of Ukraine on the admission of units of the Armed Forces of other states to the territory of Ukraine in 2016 to participate in multinational exercises", which the Verovovna Rada adopted on December 25.

In September, the Ukrainian-American teachings of the Sea Breeze-2015 were held on the Black Sea as part of the NATO Partnership program in the name of peace. 2.5 thousand troops took part in the exercises. Nine ships, eight helicopters and aircraft participated from Ukraine in maneuvers, five ships and two submarines from the United States. In addition, tactical groups of the Navy Romania and Turkey took part in the exercises. The topic was to conduct a multinational security operation in a crisis area.

From July 20 to July 31 in the Lviv region, large-scale international exercises Rapid Trident-2015 were held. They were attended by military personnel of Ukraine, the USA, Belgium, Bulgaria, Canada, Estonia, Georgia, Germany, Great Britain, Latvia, Lithuania, Moldova, Norway, Poland, Romania, Spain, Sweden, Turkey.

The teachings "Maple Arca-2015" took place on the territory of Lithuania. They were attended by military personnel of one of the Ukrainian airmobile brigades and officers of the Academy of the Ground Forces, as well as the Polish military. The purpose of the exercises is to develop the interaction of units of the recently created Lithuanian-Polish-Ukrainian brigade.
