The metropolitan police are looking for an attacker who attacked an employee of the Main Investigative Department of the Moscow State University of Internal Affairs. According to RIA Novosti, the representative of the headquarters Andrei Galiakberov, the attack occurred on Monday night in the north-west of Moscow: the criminal doused a man with an unknown caustic liquid.

"At about 22:30, near the house on Chernyakhovsky Street, the unknown person splashed the unidentified liquid in the investigator who was in his free time in civilian clothes. The Major of Justice with a person’s burns was hospitalized in a medical institution," the police spokesman said. The criminal disappeared from the scene.

Materials on the fact of the incident were transferred to the investigating authorities of the Investigative Committee, whose competence includes an investigation of attacks on representatives of the authorities. A criminal case has been instituted on the fact of an emergency under the article “Causing grievous bodily health”, the maximum sanction is eight years of imprisonment.
