Naji also released a documentary that talks about the murders of Syrian activists in Aleppo in 2013-2014, when the city was partially under the control of IG.

According to Firas Diba, producer and friend al-Jerf, the murder is the work of the IG militants who settled in the Gaziantep in the form of a “sleeping cell”. “It was the film (about the murders in Aleppo) that caused the murder,” said Diba NT . “Naji died for freedom of speech.”

According to Diba, after the release of the film, Naji began to receive threats through Facebook and by phone: “At some point, he realized that it was unsafe to be in Gaziantepa. More than 400 people gathered at the funeral of a journalist in Gaziantep, almost everything from the Syrian independent media. “We moved from Syria to Turkey, thinking that it was safer here. Now everyone is worried about their families, ”says Firas Diba. According to him, the Turkish authorities began an investigation into the murder of al-Jerf, its possible result is not yet clear.

Naji al-Jerf is not the first in the list of killed Syrian activists in Turkey. In October, in the south-east of the country, the co-founder of the Raqqa IS Being Slaughthed Silently Ibrahim Abdel Kader and the civil activist Fares Hammadi were killed. And in December, shortly before Kluvyv al-Jerf, another participant in the Ahmad Mohammad Al-Musa association was chopped by the radical Islamitists in the Syrian city of Idlib.
