Bellingcat experts compiled a list of 20 Russian military, allegedly involved in the crash of Boeing near Donetsk

An independent expert-journalistic group Bellingcat granted a report to the Dutch prosecutor’s office two weeks ago, which contains the names and photographs of the Russian military involved in the MH17 flight in Ukraine in 2014. The founder of Bellingcat Elliot Higgins said in an interview with NOS .

The prosecutor’s office confirmed that they really received the relevant data. According to the representative of the department, the entire contents of the list "will be seriously considered, analyzed and evaluated for their suitability to investigate the criminal case."

Earlier, Bellingcat stated that on July 17, 2014, the Buk installation was transported by a truck from Donetsk to Snezhnoye, and then went south of the snow. From there, at about 16:20 local time, a rocket was launched, which shot down the Malaysian Boeing. According to experts, the complex previously was part of the 53rd anti-aircraft missile brigade, which is deployed near Kursk.

According to Bellingcat, a machine similar to this “beech” was present in a military convoy, which was following from Kursk to Millerovo (Rostov Region) in June 2014. Experts prove this using several photographs taken in Russia in June. In the pictures on the Buk, similar loading markings are visible, the preserved elements of the number and white paint on the caterpillar shield in the same places as in numerous photographs taken in Ukraine.

A week after the publication of the previous Bellingcat report, an international investigative group involved in the investigation of the MH17 disaster said that important and interest in the investigation of the defendants of the case were established. The names of the suspects and possible witnesses, however, decided not to disclose there. It is assumed that the investigation will continue in 2016.

The statement emphasized that in order to fully establish the guilty in the death of the liner, it is necessary to get testimonies of witnesses, which is quite difficult, they need to be found and persuaded to testify. At the same time, the chairman of the Netherlands Security Council, Tybbe Yaustra, noted that the missile that struck Boeing was released from the territory controlled by the militias. “If you want to accurately determine the place, you need to take soil samples and interrogate witnesses. And this is not our competence,” he added.

The Boeing-777 Malaysian aircraft, flying from Amsterdam to Kuala Lumpur, crashed in the Donetsk region of Ukraine on July 17, 2014. The victims of the crash were all 283 passengers and 15 crew members. Among the dead were citizens of ten states, most of them are subjects of the Netherlands. The fact that the plane was shot down is now in doubt, but who exactly has not yet been able to install. One way or another, part of the responsibility lies with the Ukrainian authorities, since the heaven over the conflict zone was open to civil aviation, according to the Netherlands Councils.

Note that Bellingcat actively criticizes Russia's actions in Syria. Journalists believe that the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation in its reports on air strikes applied during the operation in Syria gives incorrect data. The group, in particular, analyzed the record of the representative of the Ministry of Defense of Major General Igor Konashenkov , which was held on November 9, and said that Russia is incorrectly describes the video shown.

In particular, on one of the records demonstrated by Konashenkov, the blows were inflicted 115 kilometers from the specified point - in the province of Aleppo. In another video, according to the Russian defense department, an air raid is shown to the fortified supporting point of the IG in the Idlib province.
