The Pechersky District Court of Kyiv arrested the self -lifting floating floating drilling plants "Peter the Godovanets" and "Ukraine", captured by Russia after the annexation of Crimea. According to Ukrainian News, the arrest was imposed at the request of the Prosecutor General of Ukraine on December 23, 2015. The Prosecutor General’s Office indicates that the towers could be acquired by criminal means and therefore are subject to confiscation.
In its arguments, the department refers to the fact that on December 14, 2015, installations were moved from the Odessa gas field in the northern west part of the Black Sea shelf to the shores of the Crimea occupied by Russia. We are talking about the self -lifting floating drilling rig - Peter the Gododan, built in 2010 by the Singapore company Keppel Corporation, and the self -lifting floating drilling rig - Ukraine, built in 2012 by the same company. Both attitudes belonged to the Chernomorneftegaz joint -stock company.
On December 16, the FSB border service for the Crimea sent the Amethyst guard ship to protect the drilling plants of Chernomorneftegaz from the warships of Ukraine. The security forces explained their actions with the increased attention of Ukrainian border guards. The day before, a ship of the State Border Service of Ukraine approached the Tavrida self -lifting floating drilling rig belonging to the Chernomorneftegaz, demanding “provide information on the crew’s composition and the purpose of finding the Russian brown installation in this area.”
"Captain of the SPBU, realizing that the Ukrainian side has no authority to request this kind, did not provide information," the FSB border service said in the press service. Then, according to the agency, the Ukrainian ship headed for the objects of Chernomorneftegaz, located in the Golitsyn gas condensate field, where "carried out their photo and video shooting."
Odessa deposit is considered the most promising in the region. It is located 150 kilometers west of the Crimea and 130 kilometers south of Odessa. Stocks - 22 billion cubic meters. The production plan for 2015 is 1.17 billion cubic meters (57 percent of gas production in Crimea).
On December 14, the piles of Peter the Godovanets and Ukraine were towed to the coast under the escort of the FSB border boats and the Black Sea Fleet missile boat. "Chernomorneftegaz" explained this to "a complex international situation, the risks of the loss of vital assets."
Later, the general director of the enterprise Igor Shabanov said that the launching of the drill is associated with the "increased terrorist threat" in neutral waters. The towers, he specified, were moved at the direction of the illegitimate head of the Crimea Sergei Aksenov. He, in turn, explained the towing of drilling rigs with "technical necessity."
