The Russian ruble continued the fall, updating the record of December 2014 for the second time in the day. According to RBC, at the auction of the Moscow exchange, the dollar reached 75.10 rubles, but at 17:20 it again dropped to 74.87 rubles. Thus, the ruble weakened by 2.21 percent in relation to the closure of the previous session.
At the morning bidding, the dollar updated the before the year of the December indicators, breaking through the level of 74 rubles. The euro also rose above the mark of 80 rubles, to 80.69 rubles, exceeding yesterday's closure level by more than 2 percent.
The ruble is getting cheaper against the background of an accelerated fall in oil prices. The cost of the February futures for the supply of Brent brand fell at 17:28 in relation to the closure of 4.85 percent, up to 34.66 dollars per barrel with a minimum value for a trading session of $ 34.57.
Another factor in the pressure on the ruble may be a decrease in the course of the yuan. According to Interfax, the Chinese People’s Bank on Wednesday established the Yuan reference exchange rate for the US dollar at the minimum level since April 2011. The reference rate is set at 6.53 yuan per dollar, which is 0.22 percent below the final level of previous bidding. The so -called offshore yuan (trading for which is carried out outside the mainland China) in Hong Kong also 0.5 percent - up to 6.67 yuan per dollar. Both courses are minimal in five years.
