The French composer Pierre Boulez died

The French avant -garde composer and conductor Pierre Boulez died in his house in Germany. According to the BBC, the composer was 90 years old.

Boulez, in general recognition, had a huge impact on academic music in Europe. Critics have repeatedly called him "the most influential and ambiguous in the current musical sky."

Pierre Boulez began his career in 1948, receiving the place of the conductor at the Marigny Theater. The composer was brought to the world fame by the Kantata "Sun of the Water" (1950) and the second piano sonata (1952).

In the 1960-1970s, Boulez emigrated from France after a conflict with local musical hystblishment. The composer himself said that he was desperate with the excessive conservatism of French art and connected his emigration with this. He lived for a long time in Germany and the UK, where he conducted the symphony orchestra, as well as in the United States, replacing Leonard Bernstein at the New York Philharmonic.

The composer experimented with electronic, specific and microchromatic music. From 1974 to 1992, he was the chairman of the IRCAM Institute, which is engaged in research in the field of acoustics and modern music.
