In Yaroslavl, public transport will be made free for motorists for a day. Thus, the authorities intend to deal with traffic jams, which are expected to provoke a snowfall.
Snow in the city will pass on the night of January 12-13. Free travel for motorists will be valid on January 13. Controllers will need to show the registration certificate.
According to Deputy Mayor of Yaroslavl Igor Blokhin, the authorities borrowed the idea of a "snow ticket" for motorists from Riga Mayor Nil Ushakov.
“We a priori believe that if these are motorists, then they did not use public transport. This means that there will be no losses,” said Deputy Mayor of Yaroslavl Igor Blokhin.
