In Belgorod, a doctor who hit a patient was detained
Doctor Ilya Zelendinov (also referred to in the media as Zeletdinov), who hit a patient in a Belgorod hospital, has been detained. Investigators are going to petition for his arrest.
Given the great public outcry, the chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia took this criminal case under his personal control.
- On December 29, 2015, a fight broke out in the city hospital number 2 of Belgorod. According to investigators, the doctor stood up for the nurse, who was hit by the patient. The doctor hit the patient, after which he fell, hit his head on the floor and subsequently died.
- A criminal case was initiated against the doctor under Part 1 of Art. 109 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (causing death by negligence). The doctor was fired from the hospital. The suspect's lawyer said that he repented and reimbursed the cost of the funeral of the deceased.
- The head physician of the hospital has been fired.
