The police began searching for participants in the flash mob “In the metro without pants”, which took place on Sunday, January 10, on the Zamoskvoretskaya line of the Moscow metro. According to RIA Novosti, citing an unnamed source in law enforcement agencies, on January 11, the police began checking for signs of an administrative offense under Article 20.2. Despite the popularity of the action in some cities, the actions and motives of the participants are not shared by everyone, ”the press service of the Moscow metro told the agency.

An anonymous source of Interfax in law enforcement agencies said that the police learned about the action on the evening of January 10 from photos posted on social networks, as well as calls to participate in the flash mob published on the Internet. According to an unnamed interlocutor of RIA Novosti from law enforcement agencies, the publication of appeals on social networks confirms the intent of the organizers to gather many more participants.

Article 20.2.2 provides for the participation and organization of a simultaneous mass stay, which caused a violation of public order, as well as calls for a simultaneous mass stay, to be punished in the form of a fine of up to 20 thousand rubles, up to one hundred hours of compulsory work or arrest up to 15 days. The article was included in the Code of Administrative Offenses in the summer of 2012 after the “protest walks” that took place in Moscow. Cases on it are often brought in Moscow to street musicians.
