The arrest of the leader of the “Russians” Alexander Belov has been extended until the summer

The Nagatinsky District Court of Moscow extended the term of arrest of the leader of the ethno-political association "Russians" (previously banned) Alexander Belov (Potkin) until June 21. It is reported by "Newspaper. Ru" with reference to the lawyer Ivan Mironov, representing the interests of Belov. This happened during the preliminary hearings in the Belov case.

Mironov also stated that the European Court of Human Rights accepted his client's complaint about the arrest.

Belov is accused of money laundering in connection with a criminal case initiated in 2009 against the Kazakh banker and politician Mukhtar Ablyazov, and of organizing an extremist community that aimed to overthrow the regime of Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev. In the summer of 2015, Belov was prosecuted for inciting extremist activities for a video with his participation, cut from the film "Term" about the protests of the 2010s.
