Can you imagine that in the difficult post-war years, the USSR ordered as many as 300 copies of the very special Arts & Architecture magazine from the USA (for foreign currency, of course)? This figure was cited by one of the magazine’s publishers and its editor-in-chief, David Travers, in his farewell address to readers. The weight - or paradox - of the number 300 will be clear if you know that the circulation of Arts & Architecture (whose editorial office was located in Los Angeles) did not exceed 12,500 copies!
