Civil activist Ildar Dadin, who was sentenced to three years in prison under an article on repeated violations of the procedure for holding public events, was transferred to the special block of pre-trial detention center No. 4 (“Medved”).
This was reported to OVD-Info by Anna Karetnikova, a member of the Moscow PMC, who visited Dadin on January 14 in a pre-trial detention center.
According to her, Ildar Dadin was indeed transferred from the isolation cell to a special unit. As representatives of the pre-trial detention center explained, the reason for the transfer was that Dadin allegedly complained about the lack of a sleeping place in his cell.
According to Karetnikova, the special block is a direct part of the pre-trial detention center, where, however, a regime of enhanced control is established: compared to other premises of the institution, there are more video cameras in the special block. At the same time, in the room where Dadin is now, there is a TV and a separate bed for him. As Anna Karetnikova emphasized, at present, neither the representatives of the PMC nor Dadin have any reason to worry about his safety.
A day earlier, information appeared that Dadin was going to be transferred to another pre-trial detention center due to the fact that the administration of the institution could allegedly be dissatisfied with the visits of human rights activists to the political prisoner.
