The World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) has presented the second part of its scandalous report on doping in world athletics. This is reported on the agency's website.

The report was released at a press conference of the WADA Independent Commission in Munich.

As noted in the message, after the press conference, WADA will issue a press release regarding the conclusions and recommendations contained in the published part of the report.

The existence of the second, unpublished, part of the report became known on November 15, 2015, when Richard McLaren, one of the participants in the WADA independent commission, spoke about it. As he stated, the information contained in it could lead to the suspension of the International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF) and the cancellation of athletics competitions at the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro.

The first part of the report was published on November 9. In it, WADA accused the Ministry of Sports and the FSB of interfering in the work of an accredited anti-doping laboratory located in Moscow. According to the agency, at the end of 2014, the head of the Moscow anti-doping laboratory, Grigory Rodchenkov, personally ordered the destruction of 1,417 doping samples before testing.

WADA believes that data on the use of prohibited drugs by Russian athletes was ignored by the International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF) and the Russian Anti-Doping Agency (RUSADA). On November 13, the Council of the World Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF) temporarily suspended the All-Russian Athletics Federation from competitions under its auspices.

At the same time, the IAAF banned Russia from hosting the World Team Walking Championships and the Junior World Athletics Championships in 2016. The championships will either be postponed or canceled completely.

Russian Sports Minister Vitaly Mutko, during his speech in the State Duma on November 18, said that all problems with doping in Russia will be “cleaned up.” The head of the department noted that the Russian Olympic Committee is creating an independent commission to investigate the doping scandal, but this is a serious problem for the entire world of sports.

Mutko later said that Russia is legally preparing to publish the second part of the WADA report. “We don’t know what will happen to the second part of the report. It concerns the IAAF. If it’s about Russia again, then we are preparing legally for this,” he said.

WADA presented the second part of its report on doping in athletics
