The Theater Center “On Strastnom” organized a tour of the “Kolyada Theater” from Yekaterinburg for the seventh time. Over the eight years of its annual touring presence in Moscow, Nikolai Kolyada’s private theater has gone through all stages and states in the perception, memory and thoughts of the audience. From almost complete rejection eight years ago, when the audience left in rows, and Moscow critics could not find clear definitions and, in confusion, called the Kolyada Theater a collective farm, lubok and something like that - to complete acceptance, delight and love. Now the applause of spectators does not cease in Yekaterinburg, St. Petersburg, Moscow - and, scary to say, Europe. What happened, that is Hamlet’s question. After all, the performances are essentially the same.

Nikolai Kolyada asks this question in the proposed video interviews, and answers himself. Mikhail Pushkin, director of the shopping center on Strastnoy, immediately saw the enormous touring potential in the Kolyada Theater and was right. I personally also liked the Kolyada Theater from the first meeting. And what? I still look at Kolyada and his theater with surprise, despite dozens of reviews and several detailed interviews.
