According to the American authorities, Moscow is trying to use the disunity between the countries of the European Union to undermine NATO capabilities and break the implementation of the program to post elements of American missile defense in Europe. In addition, Russia seeks to make disagreements to the question of sanctions introduced after the annexation of Crimea and aggression in Ukraine.

In European politics, a new cold war is being developed now, one of the interlocutors of the publication said. "Throughout Europe, we see alarming evidence of how Moscow is trying to make a discord on many strategically important problems," he said.
