The Foreign Ministry demands to punish those guilty of desecrating the next Soviet monument

The Russian Foreign Ministry protested Poland in connection with the next act of vandalism in relation to the Soviet memorial facility: in Shchezin, a monument of gratitude to the Red Army, erected in one of the central squares, was desecrated in Schezin.

"The Polish side, without ensuring the protection of the monuments related to our history, demonstrates complete indifference to interstate agreements, the participant of which it is. In Warsaw, they grossly violate the provisions of the Treaty of Treaty between the Russian Federation and the Republic of Poland on friendly good -neighborly cooperation," the Foreign Ministry says.

Also, the commentary of the Department of Information and Press indicates that this is the second similar case that has occurred in Schezin in recent months. "In September 2015, stars with five tombstones were stolen on the area of ​​the communal cemetery, where more than three thousand Soviet soldiers rest," the department recalls.

“The frequency with which acts of vandalism are performed, and their cynical character, as well as the fact that they occur with the connivance and even direct incitement of the Polish authorities, give reason to say that we are dealing with state policy based on historical revisionism,” Interfax quotes the message.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs demands to "find and punish the perpetrators, restore the original appearance of the memorial, as well as take comprehensive measures to prevent such incidents in the future." How exactly the memorial in Schezin was defiled in a message from the Foreign Ministry is not specified.

In the Ministry of Defense, Poland was called the leader in abuse of Soviet monuments.
