Mohammed Emvazi became known to the whole world in 2014 - after publishing a video of the IG with the murder of American photojournalist James Fowley. It is believed that a person in a black balaclava and a knife standing behind a journalist - Jihadi John. After recording with the murder of Fowley, he also appeared in other similar videos.
The British special services became interested in the terrorist long before he joined the IG. Emvazi was born in Kuwait, but at an early age he moved with his family to London. In 2009, he graduated from the university there. In the same year, the British Security Service Mi5 accused him of trying to join the al-Shabab terrorist group in Somalia.
From 2010 to 2013, Emvazi, who was supervised by the British special services, tried several times to leave London to Kuwait, but he was caught each time. Finally, in 2013 he disappeared, and a year later he showed up in Syria.
It is generally accepted that the British intelligence services pushed the radicalization of Mohammed Emvazi. However, the Dabiq magazine claims that this happened much earlier. Allegedly, Emvazi, “accustomed from childhood to life among the righteous”, getting into London, immediately imbued with hatred of the infidels. He stood on the path of jihad after terrorist attacks in London on July 7, 2005.
The magazine also tells how, after the next detention at the London airport on the way to Kuwait, Emvazi “put himself up to the inexpensive” to deceive the special services. IS propagandists also describe how Jihadi John reached Syria, managing to disappear "under the very nose of the glorious Mi5." Emvazi (in the publication of Dabiq, his military call sign is used-Abu Mukharib al-Majir), along with his partner, went to Syria on foot "through the mountains and swampy fields of Europe." They secretly crossed the borders and were at least twice detained, but as a result they were able to get to Syria and join the IG.
Among the “merits” of Emvazi in the “Islamic state” mentioned the capture of the Taftanaz air base in the north-west of Syria and the base of the 17th division of the Armed Forces of Syria in Rakka. He writes about the participation of Emvasy in the murder of hostages: “He demonstrated his hatred in relation to the infidels in practice, and the whole world became her witness.” The hostages released by the IS for the ransom subsequently claimed that torture and murders gave Emvazi pleasure.
Mohammed Emvazi was killed on November 12, 2015 as a result of Racca Airlines. The special services by this time had already reached his trail.
