Mustafa Dzhemilev and Refat Chubarov are put on the international wanted list

The leaders of the Crimean Tatars, Mustafa Dzhemilev and Refat Chubarov, have been put on the international wanted list. It is reported by RIA Novosti with reference to the Prosecutor of the Crimea Natalia Poklonskaya. Earlier it became known that a case was opened against Dzhemilev under three articles, he was arrested in absentia and put on the federal wanted list.

Poklonskaya still does not explain under which articles the case against Dzhemilev was opened, so as not to harm the investigation. According to her, Chubarov was also arrested in absentia. In addition, the former owner of the Crimean Tatar TV channel Lenur Islyamov has been put on the federal wanted list.

Chubarov and Islyamov were previously charged with calls to violate the territorial integrity of the Russian Federation in connection with their statements that Crimea should be returned to Ukraine. In addition, in December 2015, Poklonskaya stated that Islyamov was accused in absentia of sabotage as one of the organizers of the energy blockade of Crimea. On January 21, TASS circulated a statement by Poklonskaya that the FSB had filed a case against Islyamov about the creation of an illegal armed group in connection with his interview with the Ukrainian media about plans to create a battalion in Crimea named after the first chairman of the government of the Crimean People's Republic in 1917, Noman Chelebidzhikhan, to liberate Crimea.
