On January 20, the Ukrainian government approved expanding the list of Russian products that were previously prohibited from import into Ukraine. The corresponding message was published on the website of the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade of Ukraine.

The report cites a statement from Ukraine's trade representative Natalia Mykolska, who said that "more than 70 tariff lines" had been added to the list. Among them are onions, sauces and ketchups, fish, some confectionery products such as cookies, bread and other products.

“In addition, in order to avoid the supply of goods prohibited for import under other codes, an embargo has also been introduced on goods that have not been imported into Ukraine over the past year,” Mykolska said.

The resolution of the Ukrainian Cabinet of Ministers will come into force 10 days from the date of its publication. These restrictions on the import of goods from Russia will be in effect until August 5, 2016 or until Russia lifts a similar ban on goods from Ukraine, the Ministry of Economic Development said in a statement.
