A policeman who threw a girl off a moped will be tried in Bryansk

In Bryansk, a criminal case has been brought to court against a policeman who pushed a girl off a moped while moving, reports the region’s investigative department.

According to investigators, on May 9, 2015, a 35-year-old traffic police inspector of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for Bryansk took part in the pursuit of a moped driver and a passenger.

“As part of the crew, the accused was in the passenger seat of a company car. On Shcherbakova Street in the city of Bryansk, through an open window, he grabbed a woman’s hand while walking and pulled her towards him. This led to the fall of a moped moving at considerable speed with people who received injuries that resulted in minor harm to health,” the department’s website reports.

In addition, the investigation department notes that the inspector violated the instructions prohibiting the forced stop of mopeds.

A criminal case was opened against the policeman under paragraph “a” of Part 3 of Article 286 of the Criminal Code (commitment by an official of actions that clearly exceed the scope of his powers and entailed a significant violation of the rights and legitimate interests of citizens, committed with the use of violence). The criminal case has been sent to court for consideration on the merits.
