A policeman who took a detainee into the forest and beat him will be tried in the Chelyabinsk region

In the Chelyabinsk region, investigators completed a criminal investigation against the deputy head of a police department, who took a detainee into the forest and beat him, according to the website of the Investigative Committee.

According to investigators, in June 2015, the deputy head of the police department for the Etkul district of the Chelyabinsk region, Rinat Sadykov, while checking a report of an offense, took a resident of the village of Tayanda to the forest in his official car, where he beat him. As the Investigative Committee notes, the police officer struck him several times on the head after the detainee refused to confess to the crime.

A criminal case was opened against Sadykov under paragraph “a” of Part 3 of Article 286 of the Criminal Code (exceeding official authority with the use of violence). The case was sent to court for consideration on the merits.

In addition, the investigators made a presentation to the head of the Etkul district police department to eliminate the reasons that contributed to the crime.
