Sports Minister Vitaly Mutko criticized the editorial policy of the Match-TV channel. According to the official, he recently drew attention to the fact that during a handball match with the participation of the Russian national team, the TV channel showed the meeting between Arsenal and Chelsea.
“That is, all the fans have already been worried, they have long watched handball via the Internet - who will watch it on TV later, knowing the result? What does it mean to show a sporting event in a recording? It's like a wedding without music. There is a crazy handball match going on, and we are showing Arsenal vs Chelsea,” Vitaly Mutko complained.
The head of the Ministry of Sports also said that he was afraid of the transformation of "Match-TV" into "Russia 2". According to him, the information about the reduction of commentators indicates that the channel cares about the rating, and not about the popularization of sports.
“The main thing is that in the end we don’t leave the 24-hour sports channel for what was on Rossiya 2. I understand: you paid for the film once - and you can twist it, but you have to pay for the rights to the World Cup every time, ”Mutko said.
