
The former head of the Moscow Anti -Doping Laboratory Grigory Rodchenkov left for the United States. This was reported to reporters by the Minister of Sports of the Russian Federation Vitaly Mutko.
“Now the director of the Moscow Laboratory Rodchenkov and his deputy Timofei Sobolevsky, both in Los Angeles, where they received laboratories,” TASS quoted Mutko.
“They were so bad, we removed them, so they left for America, they were given laboratories, apartments, cars, and we have bad ones. And we need to look for the director of the laboratory now, and this is not easy, it should be a scientist and administrator,” the minister stated.
Recall that the International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF) on the basis of a report by the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) suspended Russian athletes from participating in competitions under its auspices, including in the 2016 Olympics.
Grigory Rodchenkov is accused of destroying 1417 doping industry, the activities of the Moscow laboratory have been suspended. At the same time, the Russian side continues to insist that all these samples were destroyed according to the WADA regulations and instructions.
Meanwhile, according to Mutko, the Prosecutor General’s Office of the Russian Federation took up the verification of facts from the WADA commission report.
“The General Prosecutor's Office is considering a doping report, plus a group of lawyers,” the Minister of Sports of the Russian Federation said. “If anything, we are ready to initiate criminal cases. We simply need to remove people, as they sometimes, simply on the basis of empty accusations, are not able to and do not want to.”
“We are ready to go through all this on a conscientious basis again, but this does not mean that we agree with all this.We are tired of endless lectures and teachings that we read through the press,” Mutko added.
