This afternoon in Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky, three second-graders died when they fell into an open hatch of a heating main.
Daniil Slisarenko, Alexander Sanko and Daniil Vinnik left the city school number 1 at about five o'clock in the evening. Without waiting for the children at home, the parents first independently rushed to search for them, and then reported the incident to the police. Information about the missing schoolchildren was rapidly spreading in social networks. The alarm raised the entire personnel of the Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Petropavlovsk. Volunteers joined the search.
Found children after 22:00 Kamchatka time. All three were dead. They fell into an open heating point, which was probably filled with hot water. This object is located literally 30 meters from the school where the second-graders studied.
Residents of a nearby house say that they have long been worried about a hole above the heating main, from which steam periodically poured out. They reported this to the relevant emergency services. However, there was no reaction.
