In Donetsk, the security forces of the DPR abducted the head of the group of volunteers "Responsible Citizens" Marina Cherenkova. This was reported by one of the founders of the group Enrique Menendes.
According to Menendes, on Friday evening, Cherenkov was detained by employees of the so -called Ministry of State Security of the separatists at her house. “I was taken to the MGB,” - all that she managed to report. “Evgeny Shibalov and I were yesterday in the MGB, and in the usual and military police, but everywhere we were told that they did not have such a detainee,” Menentes said.
On Saturday, Chelenkova was allowed to call parents. She said she was in the MGB during interrogation. The reasons for the detention are unknown to her so far.
“My detention is also likely. Good people advise you to leave. But we all stay - we have nothing to hide,” Menendes wrote.
In November 2015, the separatists forbade Cherenkova to enter the occupied territory. She was forced not to leave Donetsk, as she could not leave a sick relative unattended.
The volunteer group "Responsible Citizens" was created on June 10, 2014. "We decided to stay to help peaceful people to survive this difficult time. Today we are a full -fledged humanitarian mission based in Donetsk. The group of 25 permanent volunteers and a developed network of local activists in areas affected by the war," the group said .
In the fall of 2015, the MGB accused the group members of espionage and smuggling of psychotropic substances. The group’s activities were prohibited. At the same time, the international humanitarian organization "Doctors without borders" with which volunteers cooperated was deprived of accreditation in the DPR . The MGB presented the same accusations "doctors without borders".
