Hackers who attacked Bundestag did this by order of the Russian authorities, recognized the German media

Hackers, who in 2014 for several weeks attacked the internal network of the German Bundestag, acted on behalf of the Russian government. This was stated in an interview with the German weekly Der Spiegel a senior employee of the security structures of Germany. According to him, the “Russian military intelligence” is definitely behind cyber attacks.

The interlocutor Der Spiegel recalled that in recent years a number of cyber attacks have been committed in the same scheme. According to him, the objects of the attack were "defense enterprises in Germany and other NATO countries."

DW reports that in this regard, the Federal Prosecutor's Office in Karlsruhe has been investigating on suspicion of intelligence agency on January 15.

It became known about cyber attack on Bundestag in May 2014. Hackers with the help of a highly professional program gained access to 14 parliamentary servers, including the main server, where access codes for the Bundestag database are stored. What kind of information was ultimately stolen, the German special services did not find out.

The Kremlin repeatedly rejected the accusations of organizing hacker attacks, calling them "unfounded."
