Tariffs on the M-11 highway will be reduced after the intervention of the Prosecutor General's Office

The basic tariffs on the head section of the M-11 Moscow-Petersburg highway will be reduced to 33 percent from February 4. According to RBC, this follows from the message of the Northwest concession company.

"At 0:00 on February 4, 2016, to search for the optimal cost of the fare at a paid high -speed highway for the period until April, a reduced tariff will be introduced to most of the directions on the road," the report said.

The company explained that "the concessionaire conducted a thorough analysis of the tariffing for the fare", "collected the necessary statistics of the use of the motorway", and also "took into account the wishes of residents living and working next to the road."

Tariffs in the paid section of the M-11 from the Moscow Ring Road to Solnechnogorsk caused criticism from the side of the highway users, and then the authorities. The northwestern concession company insisted on their validity. The head of Avtodor Sergey Kelbach adhered to the same point of view.

However, on January 29, the Prosecutor General’s Office announced a warning to Kelbach for public statements regarding the validity of tariffs. The department recalled that according to the law, the limit values ​​of tariffs are regulated by the Russian government.

On January 11, Prosecutor General Yuri Chaika promised to verify information about a possible violation of the law when determining tariffs, and on January 20 the Prosecutor General turned to the government with a proposal to limit the fare. The prosecutor’s office assigned the responsibility to the Russian government, which could not take a decision on the marginal levels of tariffs in a timely manner.

On January 25, Vladimir Putin mentioned the tariffs on the M-11 highway. “No one goes there, the prices were blown up so that it is impossible to drive,” the president said at the forum of the All -Russian Popular Front.

A month earlier, the Governor of the Moscow Region Andrei Vorobyov named tariffs for travel on M-11 "Disaster". According to him, the tariffs were set without taking into account the current economic situation, which led to popular discontent.

The fare along the section from the Moscow Ring Road to Solnechnogorsk is established as part of the concession agreement with the northwestern concession company, which are the French Vinci Concessions and the Mostotrest transport and infrastructure group. The full cost of one -time passage of one passenger car or motorcycle from Moscow to Sheremetyevo Airport is currently from 100 to 250 rubles, from the Moscow Ring Road to Zelenograd - 150–350 rubles, and from the Moscow Ring Road to Solnechnogorsk - 200-500 rubles. The fare for heavy trucks is several times higher.
