A video published on the night of February 1 with PARNAS party leader Mikhail Kasyanov and his ally Vladimir Kara-Murza Jr. in a filter depicting an optical sight disappeared from the Instagram of the head of Chechnya, Ramzan Kadyrov. The video appeared on Kadyrov’s Instagram on the night of February 1. The video was accompanied by the caption “Whoever doesn’t understand will understand!”
As an unnamed representative of the social network told Vedomosti, the video was deleted by administrators for violating the rules of the service, which require respect for other users. As the newspaper notes, Instagram, according to internal rules, deletes content with threats and calls for violence.
Kasyanov himself called this post of head of Chechnya a threat of murder “based on political enmity,” and announced his intention to contact law enforcement agencies. There was no official comment from the office of the head of Chechnya, but the first deputy chairman of the State Duma Committee on Security and Anti-Corruption, Khozh Magomed Vakhaev, said that there were no threats in Kadyrov’s publication. “No one will kill anyone,” he said. Presidential press secretary Dmitry Peskov said that the Kremlin does not monitor Kadyrov’s Instagram account. After the publication of the video with oppositionists, four more posts appeared on Kadyrov’s account, none of which were deleted. One of them - a repost of a joint photograph of Kadyrov with heavyweight boxer Rodion Pastukhov - was also accompanied by the caption “Whoever does not understand, will understand!”
