Three police officers will be tried in Dagestan for beating a man and extorting money from him

In Dagestan, a criminal investigation has been completed against the former head of the criminal investigation department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the Kazbekovsky district, Alikhan Temirkhanov, and detectives Muslim Sultanov and Shamil Mirzakhanov, accused of extortion in order to obtain property on an especially large scale (clause “b”, part 3 of Article 163 of the Criminal Code ). The incident occurred in early June 2015 in the village of Gelbakh, Kizilyurt district of Dagestan. According to investigators, the police forcibly put a local resident into a car, took him to an unspecified place and there punched and kicked him in various parts of his body. The police demanded money from him. The man replied that he did not have a large sum, and then the police began to demand that he give them two of his cars, the total cost of which was about a million rubles.

Later, the police brought the man to a notary in the city of Kizilyurt, where one car was registered in the name of a police friend. For the second car, the man was demanded 300 thousand rubles. Then he filed a complaint with law enforcement agencies. Upon receiving the money on July 14, the accused were detained by FSB officers.
