The Prosecutor General’s Office called the reasons for the deduction of 13 Turkish students from Russian universities

The Prosecutor General’s Office of the Russian Federation informed the Presidential Council for Human Rights (SPC) reasons for the deduction of 13 Turkish students from Russian universities - in Moscow, Samara and Voronezh - from November to December 2015. The supervisory department confirmed that some of them were expelled on the recommendation of the FSB .

The HRC published the response of the Prosecutor General’s office to his appeal with a request to verify the information that appeared in the media about the violation of the rights of Turkish citizens - reports about the unreasonable exceptions of students, entrepreneurs' inspections, detentions at customs of Turkish citizens.

"According to the agency, nine students were expelled from the Voronezh Institute of High Technologies in connection with a violation of the terms of the agreement on the provision of paid educational services. From the Samara State Economic University, one student reported on their own. Three students of the National Research University of the Moscow Engineering and Physical Institute were expelled on the basis of the decision of the Federal Security Service on the unwasess of their stay in the territory Russian Federation ", - reports on the website of the HRC.

There were no violations of Russian legislation in the field of education during the expulsion of Turkish citizens, no appeals and information on violation of their rights on the basis of nationality or citizenship were not received by the prosecution authorities, the first deputy prosecutor general in the letter to the head of the reference to Mikhail Fedotov emphasized.

The information that Turkish students in the Russian Federation had problems on the basis of quarrels of Moscow and Ankara because of the Su-34 Russian bomber shot down with Syria, which was shot down by the Turkish on the border with Syria, appeared in the media in mid-December last year. Then, the assistant to the head of the Association of Turkish students in Russia, Okan Yildz told reporters that several Turkish students were expelled from the National Research University of MEPhI in Moscow, and the police and intelligence services arranged searches at the Obninsky branch of the university.

Yyldyz also claimed that similar searches were held in Voronezh and Saratov. At the same time, according to him, the students were also expelled in Voronezh, and in Saratov they were taken out of the city for searches.

The leadership of MEFI in Obninsk then refuted information about deductions. Representatives of the institute reported that planned verification of documents took place in student dormitories. Vice -Rector of MIFI Oleg Nagornov told reporters that three students from Turkey studied at this university received instructions from the migration authorities to leave the Russian territory until December 12.

The Association of Foreign Students and the Association of Graduates and Friends of RUDN stated that they did not receive reports about cases of violation of students' rights from Turkey in Russia.
