Canonical introduced a tablet based on Ubuntu

Canonical, the developer of the Linux-Distribution of Ubuntu, introduced its front tablet with the installed OC Ubuntu, which can be turned into a full PC. The production of the device, called Aquaris M10 Ubuntu Edition, will be engaged in the Canonical partner, the Spanish company BQ, which already produces the Ubuntu commercial Canonical.

According to CNews , BQ Aquaris M10 Ubuntu Edition is equipped with a 10.1-inch display with a resolution of 1920*1200 pixels, a quad-core MediaTek MT8163A processor with a frequency of 1.5 GHz, 2 GB of main memory, as well as a Microsd memory slot.

The main chamber of the tablet has a resolution of 12 megapixels and can boast of a double LED flash, the resolution of the front chamber is not specified. In addition, Aquaris M10 is equipped with frontal speakers with Dolby Atmos support and Microhdmi connector. The battery capacity of the device is 7280 mAh, and weighs the tablet 470 grams.

The main feature of the tablet is that by connecting a keyboard and a Bluetooth mouse to it and a monitor using a microhdmi connector, the user will receive a PC with a desktop version of Ubuntu. At the same time, the company noted that the BQ Aquaris M10 Ubuntu Edition is the first device in the Ubuntu device line offering such an experience.

By default, a number of free applications are installed on the tablet, including the Libreoffice office package, Mozilla Firefox browser, GIMP graphic editor and several others. In the dexistop mode, users will be able to install on the tablet and launch any desktop Ubuntu applications.

It is expected that BQ Aquaris M10 Ubuntu Edition will appear on the market in March. The official price of the device is not called. Presumably, the device will cost about 250 euros.
