Nazis and Islamic radicals on both sides crush the foundations of European life. How to confront them?

The cooperation of the Middle Eastern terrorists and European neo -Nazis began for a long time. The German Nazis helped Palestinian militants kill Israeli athletes, who in 1972 came to the Olympics in Munich. It was a continuation of a close partnership that arose in the thirties, when sympathy for the Nazis spread throughout the Near East. Arab politicians tried to imitate them, copied their methods and slogans. One of the leaders of the Baas party ruling in Syria (President of the President Bashar al -Assad) recalled:

- We were racists, we admired the Nazis, read their books. We were the first to decide to translate Hitler's book “Mine Campf” into Arabic. Everyone who lived in Damascus then remember that people gravitates to the Nazis because they won, and we reached for the winners.

Hitler admired a considerable part of the Arab world. Some newspapers compared it to the prophet.

And today neo -Nazis and jihadists connect the unity of views and methods. Everything changes, only hatred of Jews remains. Anti -Semitism reached an unprecedented level after the Second World War. Jews are the first victims of both religious and racial intolerance, which threatens to ruin Europe.

Without illusions

In May 2014, French Arab shot four visitors to the Jewish Museum in Brussels. In January 2015, four Jews were killed in a Kosher food store in Paris. In total, in those days, 17 people died at the hands of the Islamists.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu turned to European Jews:

- Jews are again killed only because they are Jews. Attacks and deadly anti -Semitic shares can continue. Jews deserve protection in all countries, but we say to European Jews, our brothers and sisters: Israel is your home. Israel is waiting for you with open arms.

European governments were offended by Netanyahu. The head of the French government Manuel Waltz asked the fellow citizens-Jews to stay:

But French Jews do not feel safe. Leaving. For the first time, the most Jews emigrated to Israel from France. In second place is Ukraine.

It seemed to Europeans: terror turned exclusively against the Jews, nothing threatens the rest. But on Friday evening, November 13, 2015, these illusions were scattered. On that day in Paris in six different areas, terrorists with the shouts of Allah Akbar! They began to kill people. They were not interested in their victims, who they are blood and what they believe in.

From criminals to terrorists

What was made by the terrorist of Mohammed Mera, who in 2012 killed a teacher and three children, students of a Jewish school in Toulouse? He is not an unclaimed emigrant, but the owner of a French passport. But Mohammed measures went to Afghanistan and Pakistan. He joined the Taliban, then to Al-Qaeda. And he returned to France to kill the Jews.

What made the killer of citizen Denmark Omar Abdel Hamid al-Hussein? He left the deadline in prison for a regular criminal - attacked a man with a knife in the subway. Getting free, he vowed to fight for the ideals of the Islamic caliphate and picked up a knife, but a firearm.

The special services and the police underestimated the recruiting capabilities of the Internet and could not prevent the spread of radical Islamism in prisons. Out of jail, small criminals found themselves - in this closed space - under the influence of preachers and were released by the fighters of Jihad.

Small criminals are fond of political Islam, which gives them significance in their own eyes, and retrained to terrorists.

Jihadism and Nazism

Great Britain is also experiencing an outbreak of anti -Semitism. The British Minister of Internal Affairs Teresa May and the Communities Minister Eric Picles came to the conference of the Jewish community with the banners "I am a Jew."

Radical Islamists are not the only danger.

People vote for NF, even realizing that he will not win. But the vote for him in any case changes the political situation in the country. The same happens in other countries.

In Slovakia in the Banskobystitsky Territory, where in 1944 an anti -fascist uprising broke out, the leader of nationalists Marian Kotleb defeated the governor's election three years ago. Its supporters demand to expel Hungarians, gypsies and Jews from the country. Marian Kotleba arranged marches in honor of the President of the Clery-Fascist Slovak state Joseph Tiso, who in 1947 graduated from his days on the gallows.

In Hungary, the ultra -right Nationalist Party “Yobbik” (“For Best Hungary”) became the second most important political force.

In Greece, the ultra -right party "Golden Dawn" speculates on the nationalist feelings of the Greeks. Neo -Nazis call themselves patriots and guardians of traditional values.

“I felt cruelty spilled in the atmosphere of European cities,” Vyacheslav Kantor, the head of the European Jewish Congress, beats anxiety. - I heard the slogans: "Hitler was right!" And "Jews, go to the ghetto!" I read the inscriptions on the walls of the houses: "Close Guantanamo, open Aushwitz again!" But Europeans have long preserved comfortable arrogance. And there was a terrible tragedy in Paris. We see the revival of Nazism. It blooms not only on the streets. Neo -Nazis take places in parliaments, lead the municipalities. Tomorrow they will lead the governments. And someone thinks that their behavior will be very different from the behavior of their brown predecessors? Like seventy years ago, those who today make Jews their targets will not stop at them. Judging by the massacres in Paris at the end of last year.

Europe without Jews

On January 27, the European Parliament, together with the European Jewish Congress, held an annual ceremony dedicated to the International In memory of the victims of the Holocaust.

Vyacheslav Kantor, known for his struggle against nationalism and neo -Nazism, recently almost unanimously re -elected as the President of the European Jewish Congress - at the General Assembly in Brussels. Congress, created in 1986, represents the Jewish communities of all Europe, numbering more than two million people.

“A third of European Jews are thinking about emigration,” he says. - Without exaggeration, this is a new outcome.

Israel is ready to accept European Jews. But mass emigration will become evidence of the surrender of the Old World before radicalism and extremism. And the triumph of fierce nationalism. Jews will leave Europe. Neo -Nazis and jihadists will remain.

Evil helps evil

United Europe, rightly noted the chairman of the European Parliament Martin Schulz, became a response to the crimes of Nazism, to Auschwitz and Buchenwald.

The more European Germany became, the better the Germans lived. Germany wanted to prove to the whole world that the Germans no longer come the threat that the Germans became completely different.

Famous publicist Bernt Engelman wrote the book "Germany without Jews" (Deutschland Ohne Juden). In the title of his native country, he missed the first vowel (“Grmania”) in order to graphically convey the main idea: without the Jews who lived in the German land for so many centuries and made a significant contribution to its development, its culture and literature, Germany cannot be complete.

Of course, the one who is skeptical of Germany is waking up whether the old German vices will be stolen, will the Germans eternal throwing from extreme will resume, will it take a frighteningly quick transition from burgher dreaming to the aggressiveness of iron knights, from a night cap - to a stelly helmet?

But life in a single Europe forms immunity against ideological temptations. The Germans learned lessons from the past and consider it their duty to help those who fell into trouble. Such a policy is respected. The readiness of the government of Angel Merkel to accept refugees indicates that Germany remains Germany - tolerant and democratic.

But the influx of refugees from Muslim countries, primarily from Syria, can change and already change the climate on the European continent. The appearance of strangers incredibly enhances xenophobia and intolerance.

“These people were not brought up in respect for other religions and ethnic groups, in respect for the basic values ​​of democracy,” says Vyacheslav Kantor. - They come from countries with totalitarian regimes, where anti -Semitism is a state policy, where Israel is called the generation of the devil, and killing a Jew is a good deed. Radical Islamism is a contempt for religion, the beliefs and ideals of other people. The denial of such concepts as “freedom of thought” and “freedom of speech”. Intolerance. And complete disrespect for human life. Jihadism is very close to Nazism. These are two faces of the same evil.

Europe is united by common values, ideas and principles. Society is focused on honesty and justice. Human rights are for everyone. Liberal democracy and market economy is the only successful way of developing modern society; There is no model that would demonstrate the best result. Radical Islamists and far -right nationalists hate these values, and they are the main enemies of Europe.

The ideologists of jihadism expect that loud and daring terrorist attacks in the most calm corners of the continent will intimid and destroy Europe, and a new caliphate will arise on its fragments. Their actions are a gift for neo -Nazis and ultra -right. More recently, they only in their circle felt strong and lost in flocks. Now they are menacingly noticeable. The flowering of the ultra -right is a symptom of changing moods in the old world. In many European countries, national passions are raging, archaic mechanisms of hatred are triggered.

Will Europe remain fidelity to old humanism? She has always been a laboratory of modernity. Each step was given with difficulty, giving birth to homophobia, antifeminism, xenophobia. But Europe moved forward.

Will this time deal with this time? Will the war over the two fronts? It is necessary to repel the attack of the ultra -right, to take business and Europeanize young migrants.

The Chancellor Angela Merkel at the end of January stated that "anti -Semitism has no place in our society." The Government of Germany was concerned about the seizure of "anti -Semitic reasoning and calls from the virtual information space." Merkel promised to engage in raising "youth who came from countries where hatred of Israel and Jews is widespread."

Jews are not to blame for anti -Semitism. This is a shameful disease of society itself. If the disease is not treated, it destroys the entire body. Jihadists who poison and kill the Jews help neo -Nazis who intend to destroy everyone who disagree with tyranny, strangling of freedom, inhibition and humiliation. Angel Merkel is right: democracy and ideas of tolerance require the punishment of those who incite anti -Semitic sentiments, who preach anti -Semitism on the Internet and social networks.

Europeans know what values ​​they have meaning, but have not yet decided what they are ready to risk for them. And we are talking about salvation.
