
The graphic elements of the album ★ (Blackstar) David Bowie are now available for free download and use for their purposes for any non -profit use.
The author of the visual style of Bowie’s last album, Jonathan Barnbrook , is a British graphic designer who also created covers for the last David albums. On the official page of Bowie on Facebook on January 29, 2016, an entry appeared:
“Barnbrooke loved to work with David Bowie, he was one of the most inspiring and kind people. In the spirit of openness and in memory of David, we release elements of the cover design elements of his last album ★ (Blackstar) under the Creative Commons Attribution-Noncommercial-Sharealike license. This means that you can use these elements to create your own t -shirts or tattoos in memory of David. But we ask not to create commercial products on their basis. ”
Barnbrook stood behind the visual design of Bowy Heathen (2002), Reality (2003) and The Next Day (2013). In this interview, the designer talks about his approach to creating a visual language for Blackstar, whose design elements can now freely download fans.
