Recall that the most striking point of the scandalous film was the interview with the Deputy Minister of Finance, Adam Szubin, recorded in the summer of last year, who stated that the Russian president has been involved in corruption circles and hides his true income. “This is pure fiction and slander,” said Dmitry Peskov, a spokesman for president, in response to the words of a high-ranking Washington official. However, the Kremlin was obviously alarmed.

Adam Zhubin leads the quietest, but perhaps the most powerful American intelligence agency, created in 2004 for conducting “financial wars”. He is called an architect of sanctions - he knelt the economy of Iran, North Korea, Somalia, Muamar Gaddafi regime. He was nominated for the post of April 2015, when his predecessor and direct boss David Cohen transferred the deputy director to the CIA. The duties of Zhubin include suppressing financial flows in support of terrorism, financial crimes and washing of capital, as well as the introduction of sanctions against regimes that are considered a threat to the security of the United States and its foreign policy are listed in the list of its powers. Russia here is at least at least at the last threat point, although, starting in 2006, Washington’s sanctions strategy began to extend to foreign corruption regimes. And since 2014, financial intelligence has been engaged in the “Russian issue” in connection with the annexation of Crimea.

“We needed a quick response - not symbolic, but essentially - to establish Putin’s key friends and key financial relations,” Gubin’s words, then the director of the Department of the Ministry of Finance, due to the introduction of sanctions in April 2014.

However, Washington does not intend to go on an exchange according to the “US silence of corruption - instead of the loyalty of the Russian Federation in Syria,” Kirby immediately made it clear.

“We have long been concerned about corruption in Russia ... Strengthening attention to the problems of corruption in the world is an imperative for the security of the USA ... Corruption fuels extremism and without a doubt helps maintain stability and safety in the world,” TASS answered the diplomat question.

At the same time, he explained for a long time that despite many disagreements, especially in Ukraine, the United States can cooperate with Russia on many foreign policy problems, as it was regarding Iran. And what such cooperation is not purely bilateral problems, since it serves the interests of stability in the world, in the Middle East and in Russia itself.

“I did not understand,” TASS correspondent admitted.

And then Kirsby repeated the same, but shorter:

“We are focusing on trying to find a political decision on Syria with Russia, such that it would benefit millions of Syrians who are now in a desperate position that is extremely necessary for humanitarian help and the country that they could call their home. This does not mean that we intend to close our eyes to the corruption of corruption in Russia. ”
