Oleg Sentsov was transferred to Yakutia

Lawyer Mark Feigin said that Ukrainian director Oleg Sentsov, sentenced to 20 years in prison on charges of terrorism, was transferred to Yakutia.

“They report that Sentsov was not sent to Irkutsk, but then, to Yakutia. This is revenge, definitely revenge for rebellion, ”Feigin wrote on Twitter.

“I believe that in Yakutia from Sentsov they will seek admission of guilt and testimony against many. Well, as usual ... ”, the lawyer added .

In May 2014, Oleg Sentsov was detained by the FSB in Crimea, in August 2015 he was found guilty of organizing a terrorist community and convicted by the North Caucasus District Military Court in Rostov-on-Don to 20 years of strict regime colony. In November, the Supreme Court of the Russian Federation left the verdict without change.

The other day it became known that Sentsov was transferred from the Rostov pre -trial detention center. The director’s sister Natalya Kochneva told Mediazone that he should be sent to the Irkutsk region. On Sunday, February 7, Sentsov’s lawyer Dmitry Dinze said his client was sent to serve his sentence in the climatically harsh and remote regions of Russia to complicate the work of the defense, the Crimea. Previously, Dinze emphasized that he considers the verdict illegal, since there is no evidence of the director’s guilt in the case, and other persons involved in the case who stipulated him subsequently admitted that they testified against Sentsov under pressure.

In support of the director, Russian and foreign cultural figures and human rights activists spoke, they consider the accusations against him by far -fetched and politically motivated. The human rights center "Memorial" recognized Oleg Sentsov as political prisoner.
