The satellite launched by North Korea on February 7 has stabilized in orbit. It is reported by Reuters.
At the same time, the satellite does not appear to be transmitting any signal to Earth, a source familiar with the situation told the agency.
- Earlier it was reported that the satellite launched by the DPRK "tumbles" in orbit. During a previous launch in 2012, a North Korean satellite failed to stabilize in orbit, a US government source told Reuters.
- North Korea announced the successful launch of the Kwangmyongseong-4 (Morning Star-4) satellite on February 7th. This is the second space launch of the DPRK since 2012, which was confirmed by foreign experts. Pyongyang claims to have launched four satellites.
- North Korea assures that its program is purely peaceful. Other countries around the world believe that the true purpose of the launch was to test a ballistic missile, which the DPRK is forbidden by international sanctions.
