Gennady Afanasyev was transferred to a prison-type cell

Political prisoner Gennady Afanasiev, who is serving a sentence in the "Crimean Terrorists Case", was transferred to a prison-type cell 100 kilometers from the colony where he was. This was announced on February 9 to Radio Liberty by his lawyer Alexander Popkov.

Now he is allowed only one hour of walking a day and one transmission and one short-term visit per six months.

Earlier, after a visit to the colony by members of the PMC , it became known that Afanasyev had been sentenced to ten penalties, and the convict himself was not informed about this. In early February, Afanasyev was transferred to a punishment cell after his SIM card was found. He himself suggests that she was thrown into his things at night.

On February 12, the Syktyvkar City Court will consider Afanasiev's demand to send him to serve his sentence closer to home, to the Crimea.
