The prosecutor's office of the Avtozavodsky district of Togliatti achieved the abolition of the illegal provisions of the Code of Ethics of the AvtoVAZ group, adopted at the end of 2015, in which workers were forbidden to participate in protests. This was reported on February 9 by the press service of the prosecutor's office of the Samara region.
During the prosecutor's check, it was revealed that one of the clauses of the Code of Ethics of the AvtoVAZ group "Protection and maintenance of the image of the Company" provides that "the employees of the company should not start or support protest actions, negative publications, information campaigns."
The document also required employees to coordinate with employees empowered with appropriate authority "information provided to members of the public and the media (press releases, answers to questions, public comments and other informational messages)".
“These provisions contradict the Constitution of the Russian Federation, which guarantees freedom of thought and speech and the right to assemble,” the press release says.
The report notes that "the act of the prosecutor's response has been reviewed and satisfied, the norms of the Code of Ethics have been brought into line with the requirements of the law."
